After having your first baby, you may think getting pregnant a second time will happen easily.

But that’s not always true, says OB/GYN Cynthia Austin, MD.

While it isn’t uncommon, the good news is that you’re more likely to have a successful second pregnancy if you already have a child, Dr.

Austin says.

Secondary infertility is the inability to become pregnant or carry a pregnancy to term after you’ve already had a baby, and it’s more common than you might think, accounting for about 50 percent of infertility cases.
